ε′/ε in the Standard Model

چکیده
providing clear evidence for a non-zero ε/ε value. The theoretical status is instead more debated (see ref. [2] for a brief review). One of the problems that had to be faced during the past years has been that, while CP violation is born at a scale say O(MW ), the observables that enter in the game have to be estimated at a scale of O(MK) (see fig. 1). Changing the order of magnitude of the scales one considers, different physical effects appear and have to be disentangled. In this picture, the physics is described by a chain of different effective field theories, with different particle content, which match each other at the corresponding boundary (heavy threshold). This procedure permits to perform an explicit summation of large logarithms t ≡ ln (M/m), where M and m refer to any scale appearing in the evolution.

Internal combustion engines in cylinder flow simulation improvement using nonlinear k-ε turbulence models
The purpose of this paper is to studying nonlinear k-ε turbulence models and its advantages in internal combustion engines, since the standard k-ε model is incapable of representing the anisotropy of turbulence intensities and fails to express the Reynolds stresses adequately in rotating flows. Therefore, this model is not only incapable of expressing the anisotropy of turbulence in an engine c...
متن کامل2DV Nonlinear k-ε Turbulence Modeling of Stratified Flows
The commonly used linear k-ε turbulence model is shown to be incapable of accurate prediction of turbulent flows, where non-isotropy is dominant. Two examples of non-isotropic flows, which have a wide range of applications in marine waters, are saline water flow and the stratified flows due to temperature gradients. These relate to stratification and consequently, variation of density through...
متن کاملA “v2-f Based” Macroscopic K-Ε Model for Turbulent Flow through Porous Media
In this paper a new macroscopic k-ε model is developed and validated for turbulent flow through porous media for a wide range of porosities. The morphology of porous media is simulated by a periodic array of square cylinders. In the first step, calculations based on microscopic v2 − f model are conducted using a Galerkin/Least-Squares finite element formulation, employing equalorder bilinear ve...
متن کاملAssessment of Turbulent Models in Computation of Strongly Curved Open Channel Flows
Several rigorous turbulent models have been developed in the past years and it can be seen that more research is needed to reach a better understanding of their generality and precision by verifying their applications for distinct hydraulic phenomena; under certain assumptions. This survey evaluates the performance of Standard k-ε, Realizable k-ε, RNG k-ε, k-ω and RSM models in predicting flow ...
متن کاملA multi-objective mathematical model for nurse scheduling problem with hybrid DEA and augmented ε-constraint method: A case study
The efficient management of nursing personnel is of vital importance in a hospital’s environment comprising a vast share of the hospital’s operational costs. In the nurse scheduling problem (NSP), the target is to allocate shifts to the nurses in order to satisfy the hospital’s demand during the planning horizon by considering different objective functions. This paper presents a multi-objective...
متن کاملFINAL STATE INTERACTIONS IN ε ′ /ε a
Strong final state interaction (FSI) effects can play a central role in the Standard Model prediction of weak K → 2π matrix elements. Here, I discuss how FSI's affect the direct CP violation parameter ε ′ /ε by solving the Omnès problem for the necessary K → 2π amplitudes. The main results of this analysis have been reported in a previous paper 1 and are further discussed in Refs. 2,3. The resu...
